Starting a business

If you have decided to launch your own business on the Internet, or to promote your existing company over the Net, there are a few things you must bear in mind. Your website is going to be your "visit card" in the virtual world. This is the face of your company, your corporate identity. No one knows your company, so you will be judged by few aspects:

1). Own domain name . You will be never ever be able to gain respect and trust if you reside on someone's subdomain. Domain name's costs starting at 7 $ (annual registration) and believe me, even if you have to pay for it much more - it still worth is.

2). You must buy, or design yourself a professional template . Site with poor design will struggle to get far. This doesn`t necessarily mean it should be a busy flash site, but it must, must, must have a professional corporate / business design. You don`t need to buy unique templates for thousands of dollars. Designers such as Hugo, Delta, Matrix and Juggir will offer you fantastic templates, will offer you excellent layouts starting at 50 $. If you cannot effort it at the moment, or do not wish you invest too much money before your site starts to bring real income, you can use the free business templates that we offer on our site, of design one yourself, as close as possible to any professional template u come across.

3). Reliable hosting service . Here you have a choice between paid host, or free (preferably - without ads) hosting. If you choose to pay, don`t get tempted by suspiciously low prices that some of the new hosting services offer. Choose a service that has been around for a few years, that have clients and partners, guarantees uptime above 99.7%, has fast servers, and have all the scripts and extensions that you would need. Should you choose to park you domain name on a free hosting service - obviously look for someone who offers banners and ads free hosting. There ones are generally have poorer quality, and are slower. Basically, those who offer free hosting space, can make money only if: they place ads on your site and live off the revenue the advertisings bring, OR company that wishes to promote their paid services, offers free hosting, generally on a much lower quality server, in hope you will upgrade to paid hosting plan. If your website will have a bad uptime (means the server will be frequently offline) and slow loading time, which will lead to loss of impatient clients - you are likely to spoil your chances. So, even if you have paid for professional design and webmastering, which in most of the cases guarantees a very fast loading template - but upload it all to a slow server - you lose traffic.

Why low uptime is that bad? Imagine that your server is offline for one hour, in average, per day. And now imagine, that you have 100 visitors per day. This means, around 4 unique visitors every hour. There is no guarantee that a visitor that came to your site and found it offline will come back at a later date. So, roughly speaking, you lose 4 potential clients every day. And what if you have 1000 visitors daily?

These are just a few basic things. No doubt there are many other things, but, in my humble opinion, without these - you will be unable to proceed well.

Summary: If you wish to establish a good name on the Internet community, you must put massive effort in creating a visually pleasing, fast loading website, which will be on its own domain. Also, when choosing your domain name, try to make is short, catchy & original.
